About Us

Freedom Compounding Pharmacy is an independently owned compounding pharmacy rooted in the Mahtomedi community. Our team lives and works here.

We are a licensed 503A nonsterile compounding pharmacy located in the Mahtomedi area, specializing in custom medications tailored to individual patient needs. When commercially available medications are not the right dose, form, or formulation for your patient, we compound it.

Who We Are

Freedom Compounding was founded by Michael Fischer, PharmD, and Karlie Nelson, CPhT. Mike has been involved in compounding since 2001, first as a technician before earning his PharmD in 2006, and has worked as a compounding and community pharmacist, with over a decade of full-time compounding experience. Karlie has been a pharmacy technician since 2003 and has specialized in compounding since 2012. Together they bring decades of hands-on compounding experience to every prescription. Mike is a Mahtomedi resident, and Karlie is deeply involved in the Mahtomedi community through local schools and youth sports.  We built Freedom Compounding to bring personalized, patient-focused pharmacy care to the east metro.

What We Do

We compound custom medications across a range of therapeutic areas including bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, pain management, veterinary compounding, dermatology, low dose naltrexone, thyroid preparations, and clinical and aesthetic compounds for medical practices. We also carry a curated selection of practitioner-grade professional supplements.

All compounds ship directly to patients with free shipping, or can be picked up at our location in Mahtomedi.

For Prescribers

We welcome relationships with prescribers across Minnesota and surrounding states . Our pharmacist is available to consult on formulations, discuss therapeutic options, and support your patients directly. Prescriptions can be called in, faxed, or e-prescribed.
