Dermatology & Hair Health
Skin, scalp and hair concerns can affect comfort, confidence and quality of life. Because similar symptoms can have many different causes, the right evaluation is an important first step.
Start with the right evaluation
Changes in the skin, scalp or hair may be related to irritation, allergies, infection, hormones, inflammatory conditions, nutrition, medications or other health factors. Sudden or patchy hair loss, pain, significant inflammation, scarring, signs of infection or a change that begins after starting a medication should be discussed with a qualified healthcare provider. Do not stop a prescribed medication without speaking with your prescriber.
Skin and scalp concerns
A provider can evaluate your symptoms, medical history and current products or medications to determine an appropriate care plan. Depending on the concern, treatment may include commercially available products, prescription therapy or a personalized medication when clinically appropriate.
Hair thinning and shedding
Hair loss can appear in several patterns and may have more than one contributing factor. A medical history, physical examination and, in some cases, laboratory testing can help a provider identify the type of hair loss and discuss reasonable next steps.
Personalized medication options
When a licensed prescriber determines that an available commercial product does not meet an individual patient’s clinical needs, a compounded medication may offer a different strength, dosage form or combination of ingredients. Every prescription is reviewed for formulation feasibility and prepared for the specific patient.
